Dizzy Ducks turns 10!
Nov 16, 2015
“As I waved off my colleagues and headed off on maternity leave in July 2003, I had every intention to return to my finance job in the city. My daughter Abbie was born in September 2003 and as I looked around local nurseries, I realised that there was no way on earth that I would leave my precious bundle with them. There was a real lack of good quality nurseries around. Hey presto-Dizzy Ducks was born.”
What was clear then, and remains in the forefront of our ethos now, is that our children should be at the heart of everything that we do. Your child is the most important person in the world. They deserve to be encouraged, nurtured, supported and loved. When we look at developing our nursery we ask ourselves “Would we want this for our own children, or family members?” It’s a trait that filters through all our nurseries and practitioners constantly questioning themselves to ensure they develop their own practice.
Team development has become very important to us in recent years and your children are now benefitting from our Team Training Programme. This initiative has meant that we have better trained and higher motivated team members who realise that we believe in their potential enough to invest in their continued professional development. Reflecting on our practice on an ongoing basis allows us to benefit from a continued cycle of self-development and Improvement.
In 10 years we have grown the nursery to 5 nurseries and HQ, with 140 team members. However, our children and families remain at the heart of what we do. Underneath it all I’m just a working mum, who wanted the best early years care possible for her children. Here’s to the next 10 years! Happy birthday Dizzy Ducks and thank you for allowing us the privilege of caring for your child as part of the journey.
