Dizzy Ducks Day Nursery raises £200 for Lake Meadows appeal
After the statue of ‘The Child in the Park’ was stolen from Lake Meadows, the children and the families at Dizzy Ducks Day Nurseries raised money in support of the appeal.
Since the beginning of March 2017, Dizzy Ducks Day Nursery in Billericay has been hosting activities throughout the nursery and during our open day to raise money to support the Friends of Lake Meadows Fund. The children have been taking part in face painting and guess the number of beans jelly competitions and raised £200 for the appeal
Sue Young, manager of Dizzy Ducks Buttsbury Nursery, said “We are thrilled with the amount of support we have received from our parents and delighted to have raised £200 for the appeal. The children have loved having their faces painted and taking part in competitions.”
Rosie Novis, Secretary of the Friends of Lake Meadows, came to collect the cheque from the Buttsbury nursery children. She commented, “This is great, well done to all of you! Our thanks to everyone who has helped towards the fund-raising. The fund is now well under way, but we are still at a very early stage of discussions and it is likely that a replacement for the statue will take some time. I can reassure you that it will be something special!”
