What is my child entitled to?

You can use your entitlement in various ways. You may want your child to attend two or three sessions a week, or you may wish your child to have their whole five session entitlement over two and a half days instead of spread over a week.  You may also be using more than one group (i.e. another pre-school) and you can divide your sessions between groups - but you will only be allowed five funded sessions in total.
You will be required to sign a form at every provider you use in order that you do not claim more than five sessions.

We refund the Nursery Education grant to parents through their invoice in the month following when it is paid into our account from Essex Early Years.
As each terms grant (Autumn, Spring & Summer) is paid in two parts (50% at beginning of term and 50% part way through the term) parents will usually see a credit on their invoices every other month, but this may fluctuate dependant on Essex County Council payment dates.

The current value of the Nursery Education Grant is £9.28 per session. You will receive this funding for a minimum of 38 weeks per year (dependant on school dates).

Staff are available to discuss Nursery Education Grant Funding should you require further information.
