Our commitment to your career and development
We are committed to providing award winning childcare and want our team to be trained in the latest techniques, policies and standards. Our aim is for 75% of our team to be Level 3 qualified. For practitioners who are still training we will match you with a mentor who will provide you with on the job training and ensure you get access to the right courses.
Helping you get the best start
When you first join us you will start on our local induction programme specific to your setting. This will help you get a clear understanding of your roles and responsibilities and our expectations, as well as introduce you to our children’s routines and planning and receive training on our Online Learning Journeys.
Within your first few months, you will attend our InDUCKtion day. A fun day of activities and exercises to help you understand all about Dizzy Ducks. You’ll learn about Sian (our founder) and how she started the Dizzy Ducks, our mission and vision. It is also an opportunity to spend time making friends with your new colleagues.
During your time with us you will join our Dizzy Ducks Academy, where you will attend full day, in-house training courses to help support you learn about our policies and procedures. These include: ‘Brilliant at basics’, 'Safeguarding' and 'Health and Safety'.
Supporting your ambitions
If you have ambitions to become a manager or, like many of our practitioners, you have an interest in specialist areas within childcare eg SEND or behavioural management; your line manager will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan. This ensures you get access to specific training to learn new skills and reach your goals. We’ll also support you to implement the new practices you’ve learnt in to the nursery.
Your training and personal development plans are recorded in your Training Portfolio. We believe it is important the quality of practice is regularly monitored and hold supervisions every six weeks to ensure you are getting the support that you need.
